Murals are much more common across America since I left in 1987. Many are big and most are very good. Those in Uvalde, Texas standout, though. When I realized what they were I was stunned. They have murals for the 19 students and 2 teachers murdered in the state’s worst mass school shooting on May 24, 2022. Some locals do not like them and would rather not be reminded of the town’s worst day. Most locals say they are a good thing, thing. They are a powerful use of paint for sure.
